The Training Division encompasses all training related activities. Two department members, certified as Fire Instructors are assigned as the Training Officer and Assistant Training Officer. Currently, the department conducts two nightly trainings a month for call firefighters. On-duty members are required to conduct training daily under the supervision of the Shift Commander.
The Auburn Fire Rescue Department has its own training facility, which includes an indoor and outdoor classroom, four-story training/burn tower, basement fire prop, roof ventilation prop and three propane fed props (vehicle, dumpster, tank). The training facility is utilized regularly by Fire District 7 departments, and is also available for use to outside departments.
Group trainings are conducted daily by on duty members. Drills are assigned to the company officers by the Training Division.
Call firefighters conduct 1 nightly training a month and then one additional training with a full time working group.

The training facility is equipped with a 4 story training tower, an inside and outside classroom, propane fed car, propane tank and dumpster fire props. It has an EMS car used for extrication and lockout training. There are also cellar fire and roof props.
Any department conducting live fire training in our facility must follow the AFRD Live Burn Policy. All members participating in the training must have an application for Live Burn Training filled out and signed by the Chief of Department.
