Auburn Travelers / Friends of the Auburn Senior Center Association (FASCA) Presents:
15 Nights aboard the Norwegian Dawn
Panama Canal Cruise
From New York
November 9th through 24th, 2019
It's a new day on Norwegian Dawn. After extensive upgrades ranging from renovations of existing spaces to the introduction of brand new venues, she's practically a new ship. Now you can enjoy Los Lobos, an authentic Mexican cantina and O'Sheehan's Neighborhood Bar and Grill, serving up sports highlights (and pints) all night. Stroll over to The Cellars - a Michal Mondavi Family Wine Bar and then pop into Sugarcane for a refreshing mojito - or two. Melt your cares away in the award-winning Mandara Spa. Get ready to experience a brand new Norwegian Dawn.
We'll enjoy three sea days from New York to begin our 15 night cruise before docking in Willemstad, Curacao. Walk around this quaint harbor town, reminiscent of Old Amsterdam, and admire the colorful Dutch architecture. Relax on a 17th Century veranda with a drink made with the famous Curacao liqueur. We stop next in the bustling town of Oranjestad. Incredible white sands, cobalt blue seas and Dutch colonial buildings draped in bougainvillea make the island of Aruba a popular destination. Next, admire the stunning bays and beaches of Santa Marta, Colombia. Explore the ancient culture of the Taironas or visit the beautiful Cathedral. The old walled city of Cartagena reflects a turbulent history of conquistadors and pirates. Climb "las murallas" for an unforgettable view of the harbor.
Then, get ready to marvel as you transit the Panama Canal which is considered one of the seven wonders of the modern world. Next, take in the stunning view as we sail into the Caribbean seaport of Colon, Panama. This industrious town was the last stop on the 19th century Panama Railroad. Our next stop, Puerto Limon, Costa Rica has become a must-see stop for eco-tourists. The region's unique geography and neo-tropical climate combined with abundant rainforests make for one of the most naturally diverse "biospheres" in the world. Beautiful and unspoiled, the island of Roatan, Honduras, is teeming with marine life and is home to some of the best pillar coral in the Caribbean. Immerse yourself in natural beauty and culture in Harvest Caye, a 75-acre oasis in Southern Belize.
Lastly we dock in Costa Maya, Mexico, a coastal paradise in the Yucatan featuring stunning beaches. Visit ancient Mayab ruins in this region rich with archaeological sites. Following a day at sea, we'll dock back in Tampa and fly home.
